Did You Know...
Tourism brings 8.6 million visitors to Scottsdale annually. These visitors contribute $2.9 billion in economic impact, including $1.1 billion in direct spending in Scottsdale.
In Scottsdale, 1 in every 8 jobs is related to tourism. Additional jobs also are impacted by the industry – from real estate agents and construction workers to local farmers who supply our hotels with fresh food.
Visitors also generate $35.4 million in additional tax revenue for the city.
- This is enough money to buy 2 million library books, build five parks or hire nearly 560 police officers.
- These taxes help the city pay for Scottsdale police officers, fire fighters, water services, street maintenance, libraries, parks and other vital community services.
One-fourth (25%) of all sales and bed-tax revenue comes from visitors.
